The changes of the abdominal wall are usually the results of obesity, remarkable weight loss or deformations after pregnancy. Skin and fat surplus on the abdomen cause not only aesthetic but functional complaints and overlapping skin areas may result in skin diseases and psychological problems as well.

The purpose of abdominoplasty is to correct deformations on the skin, fat tissue and abdominal wall. The operation cut goes hidden in a curved line connecting the two hip bones in the plica over the pubic bone. We remove the slack skin as well as the fat tissue underneath. After we fix the navel according to its original position then close the cut in several layers with stitches. We put on a compression bandage after the operation.

Conditions:

Before surgical operations certain tests concerning the general condition and local state of the body are necessary in order to measure the risk of the operation.The operation is executed under general anaesthesia.

10 – 14 days

Stich removal:

After 14 days

Post-operation:

Patient has to wear the compression bandage or corset for 4 – 6 weeks.

Risks:

Medical operations are usually accompanied by the following: swollen, haemorrhagic operation area or inflammation, furthermore, scar healing problems may step up. However, thanks to the modern medicine these are very rare and treatable. Special risks in the case of abdominoplasty: blood serum production or sensory disorders as a result of the injury of skin nerves.
